Weigh In # 4

Yeah today is the DAY!

Am I a loser or a gainer?  That is always the question on Tuesday mornings at 7:30.  Actually, we weigh in about an hour later; class begins at 7:30 and runs until 8:30 …. then the visits with Docs, Trainers, Behaviorists, and Dietitians follow on the heals of the WEIGH IN!  This is always traumatic; the success of the previous week will not predicate the success of the current week.  Today was especially trying as I was LATE!  You cannot traverse 280 traffic quickly …. just not possible …. particularly when one wakes at the time one should be leaving!  Nothing like a manic dress and go to have the ole’ spirits calm and easy. 🙂

With each meeting comes the class ….. the waiting ….. and then the call to the scale.  I have developed a new tactic …. each week I make sure to head to the ladies’ room before being called back … and every time …. My Name is called while I am in the restroom.  🙂  Works like a charm and cuts WAY down the agony of waiting because you are busy … sorry about the mental picture.  🙂

I go back, today is blood-draw day and measure-your-tummy day to go along with the BP and SCALES.  I can never look.  First we take the BP–my numbers have dropped.  111/77  Yeah BABEY!  Next — I begrudgingly step on the scale with trepidation, and wait …. I can NEVER look at it … I have to wait for the beep to know it is over, and then I look over at who ever has taken me to the “SCALE.”

She (the attendant who took me back–I do not know her name) announces you weigh 234.5. I lost 4.5 pounds today!  =)  This means a total loss of 20.5 pounds.

Weight      BMI

Pre weigh      255         41.8

1st weigh       249         I don’t know

2nd weigh      244         40.0

3rd  weigh      239         39.2

4th weigh       234.5      38.4

They took my measurements in centimeters so …. not exactly sure how to relate that or if I even want to …. my tummy is still huge.  I think I will leave that until another day when I better understand what the information means.

Doc, or Dean Jones, took me up to his office and explained some things on my printout to me — very interesting stuff.  =) It is extremely nice to have someone who is a step or two ahead of you to help with understanding the process.  Everyone is encouraging.  As I have stated before this is an ABBY-Normal experience for me.

On my way home, I thought about what I would do to reward myself for losing these last few pounds.  I decided that I would go shopping ….. for what I had NO idea.  When I arrived home, my oldest daughter called asking if I could watch my Grand Girly.  So I will show you what I found when I went shopping to reward myself…. hahaha …..

For the love of Sophie …. I just can’t help myself where she is concerned … I spent money for me on her ….. hahaha! 🙂  I did buy myself a treat too:

I love pretty paper …. so I picked myself up some note cards and since I will NOT be consuming chocolate hearts ….. I bought myself some on napkins :).  Don’t cha just love pretty things?  🙂

Cheers and Happy Eating until the morrow …..S

  1. Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of your success and very inspired! I need to check in more often as I have fallen off the wagon with a week of eating like a fiend and not daring to step on the scale…hence the lack of a post on my blog.

I’ll post all the horrendous details later and from here on out – good or bad since that’s all a part of being accountable.

Again, so happy for you! xo

    • Thanks …. Lisa. I thought those papers were “sweet” to borrow CC’s sayin’. Thank you for your words of encouragement, they are a real compliment coming from you. 🙂 I have especially good taste in friends. 🙂

  2. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you. You are truly an inspiration. Just to let you know, I admire your exercise ability so much that I thought, I have to start adding something to my work-outs. I started Donna’s classes. Last Monday I did the functional fitness class and this week I have done the cardio crazy. I am so uncoordinated I am always one beat behind (just like in dancing class). Anyway I want to join your team and just get healthy. You keep going girl!!!

    • Debora – you are too sweet! WOW! I know Donna is LOVING you — going to all those classes. I can’t wait for the day when I lose enough where I can go to the classes. Have a blast — I will count on you to show me the ropes when I can take them. 🙂

I missed Monday dance class — why did Richard have to go and get sick?? LOL

See you Friday! Thanks for all the kind words. S

    • Tanx girl! The grand children are so fun — I was going to do “Me” stuff today, but I just couldn’t turn her down — so we went shopping. I took a buddy with me, it was great fun!
